Hey guys and welcome to the 24th issue of the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE‘! Today I am going to be explaining Viral Marketing and why it has become popular as a product and as a service.

No, Viral Marketing has nothing to do with computer viruses if you are worried about that sort of thing but it was named that for a reason! When you use a Viral Marketing system to promote something, after a certain point it will get out of control and just spread uncontrollably. That is why it is called Viral Marketing.

Viral Marketing uses a similar logic to the concept of word of mouth. If you tell two people about something and they each tell two and so on it creates a chain reaction that can produce immense results. While this idea is good and can lead to success… it is heavily flawed. Viral Marketing can only work if you can refer. If you can’t, then don’t even bother continuing to read this page and forget all about Viral Marketing. Even if you can directly refer an initial 10 people, what makes you think that they will continue and so on? This marketing strategy has too many unknowns and that is not good for business. Marketing was created originally to eliminate the unknowns so that they could maximize their revenue without having to make guesses about what people want and need.

Viral Marketing can come in handy if you have free time and a vast network of marketers. It is probably the cheapest way to bring traffic to your website and there really is no telling what the results will be because of all the uncertainty.

“If you double a penny everyday for a month you have over $10 million dollars!”

That is a statement that I saw on a Viral marketing website and if you can learn to use Viral Marketing to your advantage then it could potentially generate millions of dollars (I will assume you have a product that sells) and with very little investment to get traffic to your site.
