Hello everybody, if you don’t already know… my name is KG Lew and I am the mastermind behind the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE‘ blog. In today’s issue I am going to be talking about blogging and how you can make a lot of money with your blog! In fact, whatever money-making strategies we have already touched on in previous issues can be taken and implemented in your very own blog to produce amazing income boosts!

A couple of years back there were only a select few bloggers on the internet and those were the guys who knew a lot about computers and used it as a medium to communicate with others! The pioneers of blogging set a new trend that would develop into a generation of money-minded internet opportunists! The everyday blogger now consists of teenagers, tech-savvy folks, stay-at-home moms, internet gurus and entrepreneurs from all over the world! Even though the idea of making money through a popular blog exists and is quite well known, I am still sure that there are many bloggers who didn’t know that they could monetize their blog even after is has been up online for years.

Now I am going to talk about how you create your very own blog and how you can make some money from it. I am going to list the basic steps and give a short explanation (I may go further into detail about specific parts in future issues).

1.Selecting a blog topic.
The first thing that you will need to do is pick a topic. This can be really easy for some; hard for others. You will want to pick something that you really love, because you will have to write about it. If you are an advanced blogger or marketer then you can choose your topic or subject based on different factors that you think can profit you best… however, selecting a topic that you can write about easily is still the safest option. Try to pick something that you think others will be interested in as well and try to share any extra knowledge of a subject that others may not know.

2.Setting up your blog.
Setting up your blog is easy. There are a couple great websites that I know of that give you the ability to create a full features blog for free in just a few short minutes! Two of the biggest companies that you can use are Wordpress.com and Blogger.com, they both have their unique advantages and disadvantages but it is really just up to you and your preferences. You should buy a new domain name for your blog if you don’t have one already… any website that you plan to monetize should be given a domain name to make it a much more credible source of information.

3.Writing content for your blog.
This is the most important step. Writing content will make or break the success of your blog. You cannot truly be considered a blog if you do not have much content. Writing content can be difficult for some or easy for others. It all depends on your relationship with words and your relationship on the subject chosen. I can write from when the sun rises to when it sets, but if it is about a topic that I do not fully understand or am not generally interested in then I will be stuck at an intro. When writing a blog… share information on how to do something, give your opinion on specific matters and sell yourself along with your blog!

4.Monetizing your blog.
There are many ways that you can make money from your blog but I am going to start with the most widespread. It is very common for bloggers to place relevant ads on their blog. There are many blogs that make several thousand dollars per month just by placing ads within their blog or around it! You can also use your blog to review products that you can collect a commission from! You will obviously want to give the product/service a great review and compare it to others, and when a surfer follows your referral link to buy the product you will collect a nice commission. There are so many websites that offer these kind of programs so you will likely be able to find one that is related to your topic. Finally, if you are a good writer and truly enjoy blogging you can write articles for other people. There are many websites that need articles written but for whatever reason they cannot do it themselves. These people/companies pay you for each article that you write and you can make a good income for writing these depending on your writing talents.

5.Generating traffic to your blog.
The best way to generate traffic to your blog is very easy but can be time consuming. Leaving comments on other’s blogs is a great way to get traffic to your blog and creates a back link at the same time which will in turn boost your rank on search engines! That way you are killing two birds with one stone. In general, a good rule of thumb when writing comments to other blogs is to build a working relationship so that way you will get a constant flow of traffic to and from their blog! Never just blatantly spam or advertise your website on someone’s blog. There is nothing wrong with commenting a blog and leaving your url, but if you post the same message to 100 blogs which has nothing to do with their blog then something is wrong. Back links are very important for any website so you will want to get high PR backlinks.(I will do an issue in the future about building backlinks to your website)

When it really comes down to it, none of your traffic will be of any use if you don’t have solid content. Once again, the pioneers thought about their users before they thought about their traffic or page rankings and to be honest that is how it should be. If you offer good content that people will read and enjoy, then they will come back for more and tell their friends and that will ultimately make your blog succeed in the long run!

6.Maintaining your blog.
At this point you want to sit back and watch the money roll in, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t going to be any more work. If you want to keep making profit from your blog you have to update it with fresh and interesting content quite often… but it is well worth it especially with the endless potential of financial gain. If you have a lot of time you can update daily or semi-daily, but at the least try to update it twice a week. If you don’t have time to update your blog then you can hire someone to do it for you, but that is cutting from your profits.

So as you can see, blogging is a great solution for those who want to make money from their opinions or ideas. Writing posts for entertainment, information or even to start a debate can greatly increase your chances of success on the internet! The best thing about it is that the possibilities are immense and there isn’t much of an investment needed. Write a blog and make some money!
