Issue 36 : White Hat SEO vs. Black Hat SEO!
Well I guess it is time to open the doors to the real world because sooner or later you will come across the terms “White Hat” SEO and “Black Hat” SEO and you might get a confused look on your face. The original terms of White Hat and Black Hat referred to heroes as opposed to villains like in the old western movies where the good guy would wear a white hat and the bad guy would wear a black one! This concept has been taken and now applied to the webmasters of today.
If you have a website and have done any marketing at all then you surely fall under either one of the two categories mentioned. It is clear that most webmasters fall under the White Hat category, but there is starting to be a growing trend in BH SEO tactics! The idea of these ‘villainous’ techniques to build traffic, downlines, clients, etc. have re-shaped the way that many webmasters market their pages online. Those who are not quite BH SEO and not quite WH SEO are sometimes referred to as Grey Hats (makes sense doesn’t it?).
There is a definite rise in Black Hatters on the internet and it may give you guys the wrong impression about who is making the most money online. I can’t really tell you which route to take because obviously there is no way I can stop you from choosing your own path, but I will tell you the difference between both so you can make an informed educated decision!
One of the biggest differences about White & Black Hat SEO is the support system. If you are practicing BH SEO techniques then it is highly likely that you will build a great list of enemies, and trust me; this list will only get bigger & bigger as time goes on! Sure, you may gain popularity in the BH SEO community; however, pretty much everyone else working and browsing the internet will pray on your downfall. WH SEO is almost worshiped because newer marketers are looking up to the super affiliates who made millions of dollars starting with almost nothing and doing it without any sneaky tactics. Building traffic and clientele the honest way is treasured because so many big names have gotten to the top using some shady practices.
Black Hat SEO.
- Spamming is practically second nature to Black Hatters and they will do it over and over again to get the results they want.
- BH SEO techniques will get you banned from search engines and BH generally know this ahead of time and prepare for it thoroughly.
- Very often BH webmasters are in the adult industry, scamming industry, as well as spy ware industry.
- BH might not be able to sleep at night from fear that they might get banned or even worse; prosecuted!
- BH are known to use a lot of automated online tools. Whether it is a click generator, page rotator, hit generator, etc. Some might get the wrong impression and think they are lazy, but in my opinion it is a lot of work to do many BH SEO practices.
- BH SEO websites tend to be online for a little while and just suddenly disappear whether it is because their site was shut down or maybe they closed down to get away with what they have done.
White Hat SEO.
- WH SEO tend to try not to spam unless they don’t know any better. If they are caught spamming then they will likely stop doing it and learn their lesson!
- WH SEO techniques will never get you banned because you are doing everything legitimately.
- Most WH like to keep it clean and stay away from adult content and other types of immoral content.
- WH can sleep at night knowing they are not doing anything wrong.
- WH do things manually… this way they know exactly what they have done and it is more rewarding when you finally get your results.
- WH SEO websites have longevity. If you want your website to be online for a long time and really want your business to succeed and make more than just a quick buck then go WH all the way!
So those are just some of the basic differences… I obviously am a little bit biased towards WH SEO because it is the least risky and I will be able to live with my decisions and not have to worry about my website getting banned every day. Some may not agree with me but it really all depends on your character. I do enjoy wearing a Black Hat, but I think a White Hat will get me noticed
In the next issue of the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE‘ I am going to talk about Directories and why you should use them to boost your backlinks!

I agree, I’ll stick to the White Hat Methods, maybe venture off into the gray zone every once in a while
Thanks,
