Issue 42 : Spotting Obvious Internet Scams!

Hey guys, welcome back to the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE‘ and today let me tell you that I am very pleased to see that this blog is getting some good feedback from fellow webmasters! So I am going to start things off right now by addressing an issue that has a lot of surfers paranoid when it comes to buying and selling online, Scams! With the amount of scams present online, it is not hard to see why anyone would think twice before putting their trust in anyone on the internet. So today I am going to give everyone a few tips on how to spot a scam before you fall victim to their game!

1. Ease of Entry Scams
This is probably one of the most common and is very easy to spot. Usually there will be a company that will offer you all sorts of dreams and promises and will direct you to think that all you need to do is “sign up” or make a “payment” and then you will have access to everything you need to achieve what is promised. The fact is that if they could really deliver something of this magnitude then they wouldn’t be able to offer it at a mere price, they would likely have to keep it extremely low profile otherwise anyone can do it, right?

2. Unexpected E-Mails
If you aren’t expecting an E-Mail from a company or person. Then what would lead you to believe that an unnamed company that has randomly chosen you to win a prize would be real? Something is already off, but to make it more obvious that it is a scam.. they ask you to pay a fee of some sort to collect your prize. I don’t know about everyone else here, but when I “win” a “prize”, then I shouldn’t have to “pay” for it!

3. Vague Offers
There are so many companies online that will do this. They always seem to be offering a ‘turn-key’ system but don’t mention a single thing about how it works! They promise that you will be making money without telling you a single detail about their program except for the fact that it works. If they spend more time trying to prove that they are not a scam by posting pictures of their affiliate earnings, promising money-back guarantees and confusing you with their gimmicky stories then they are most likely trying to keep you from thinking clearly. You don’t want to guess what you are buying, you want to know what you are buying.

4. Terms of Service
Before buying into anything on the internet you will want to read their TOS very carefully because the fine print can kill you. You will be amazed at how many companies can almost get away with murder because they clearly write something in the print of their ‘TOS’ that most people will neglect to even look at. So before you make a rash decision always read these pages carefully so you know exactly what you are getting into and so that you have a case if you aren’t please with the service.

Most scams you can easily spot after using your common sense, but there are some that are really cleverly thought up. Luckily most of them are pretty obviously scams and you will be able to notice them quickly after knowing what to look for. I know that I have been scammed way too many times in the past and I am usually reluctant to really do anything about it. In the future; however, we should not take these scams too lightly and should take immediate action! I hope that this article will leave readers more aware of the possibilities. Scams are everywhere and now you guys know what to look for… so don’t fall into their traps so easily!

In the next issue of the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE‘ I am going to explain a concept that is used often in the marketing industry that really works! It is called “Copying” or “Mimicking”, don’t miss out!

It is really unfortunate that online scams have become such an epidemic. We as a society and as member of the technology industry need to constantly be educating people about online scams.

I’m constantly on the look out for real business opportunities, and have come across literally hundreds that are obvious scams and there is only one person making money out of them………I treat everything as a scam and never give the benefit of the doubt until I’m 100% satisfied, that it is for real and offers potential to for me to invest my time and money.
