The One Year Millionaire

Hey Everyone, today’s issue of the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE‘ is a follow up post on the topic that I spoke about last time , staying focused on Making Money Online! This time around I am going to talk about how you can organize your time better so that you get more things done in less time and make money out of those hours! If you haven’t already done so, check out my post about ‘Time Management‘!

If you are like a lot of others starting a career in Internet Marketing; you may have noticed that there is a lot of challenges waiting ahead of you. You have obstacles that you are going to have to overcome in order to reach your short and long term goals! Learning how to manage your time effectively to maximize your earnings and free time is one of the things which can make the difference between living your life successfully to your heart’s desire and borderline failure scraping every last penny and extra minute along with it!

When I first started doing online marketing I worked when I wanted to and found out that I was setting myself up to fail! Now I built a work schedule which fits the lifestyle that I want, and I also get all my work done in a timely manner (= making more money) ! I still have a tendency to do what I want when I want, but I am finding myself eager to get my work done during the hours that I have set in order to keep my goals in sight and to clear up some time for whatever life has to offer!

Here is my personal work schedule… these are the things I do during my week to ensure that I can get everything done and still have a lot of free time to do more important things! I always stress that money isn’t important to me. As an object of desire it is worthless, but on the other hand it is a gateway to happiness which is something that is very important to me. In a sense.. I don’t want money, I want happiness.. and if I eliminate finances as a potential problem it increases my chances of happiness! I hope I didn’t get too complicated there! So this is the schedule of my work week:

Monday:

10:00am-12:00pm :

• - Check my web stats.
• - Read Interesting Blog Posts.

12:00pm-1:00pm :

• - Lunch Break.

1:00pm-3:00pm :

• - Write a new article on my blog.

I like to start off the week by checking out my webstats (traffic, rss subscribers, revenue reports, etc.) so that I can see what I may need to work on to improve or see what has been working well. I also take the time in the morning to browse a few of my favorite blogs to see if there is anything really interesting to read! Just because I wrote 10:00am-12:00pm doesn’t mean it takes that long for me to do all that … sometimes I get through it in a flash, and sometimes I get distracted by youtube or other entertainment websites. After I take a break for lunch I generally start getting down to business and write new content for my websites.

Tuesday:

10:00am-12:00pm :

12:00pm-1:00pm :

• - Lunch Break.

1:00pm-3:00pm :

• - Link Building for my sites.

Since I’ve been in Internet Marketing I realized that if I spend hours everyday adding new content to my site it could work well and get ranked if I keep delivering high quality content like a professional writing machine! Or I could spend very little time writing content and a lot of time building links to increase my site’s rankings. I prefer to do 50/50. One day I will write content, the next I will build links. This keeps the work from becoming monotonous… I enjoy writing, but I know that link building helps a website a lot!

Wednesday:

10:00am-12:00pm :

• - Check my web stats.

12:00pm-1:00pm :

• - Lunch Break.

1:00pm-3:00pm :

• - Write a new article on my blog.

Today I like to just keep it simple, check what I need to check online and write some content for my sites. If you haven’t already noticed I don’t work on any day after 3:00pm. I figure to get my work out of the way so that I have a lot of free time to do things I enjoy! This is a great way to schedule time for those who want to have more time for themselves or to spend with loved ones.

Thursday:

1:00pm-3:00pm :

• - Check my web stats.
• - Link Building for my sites.

I feel the weekend drawing near so I don’t like to work too hard, but I still want to get things done so I do a little bit of link building. I also have a tendancy to check my stats daily… it is just a personal habit of mine and I don’t think its completely necessary.

Friday:

1:00pm-3:00pm :

• - Check my web stats.
• - Work on Advertising Campaigns
• - Updates on Social Media Sites.
• - Write a new article on my blog.

I usually like to sleep in a little on Friday, work a little bit and then finish early. I guess I just like to jump start my weekend and I guess since I am working on the internet without a boss to answer to I am allowed to do that

Saturday:

• - Have Fun.

It is the weekend and even though it may not seem like we’ve done much work at all it does payoff and you do need to take time to reward yourself! This lifestyle is ideal for me and probably would be great for a lot of people! There is a total of 16hrs of work in my personal work week and I am sure that if I doubled it I could make double the money; however, I am happy with the amount that I currently earn. Another thing to take note of, is that even though I have written 16hrs to stay consistent… many times I finish earlier or slack off during my personal work hours.

Sunday:

• - Relax.

Take this time to relax. Free your body and mind from any stress that may or may not have accumulated throughout the week… One of the reason why many people are moving towards work-at-home careers is because they want more free time and they don’t want the stress that comes packaged with a full time job. No matter who you are, you will always need to find time for yourself to do something that you love or just to take a breather when life seems to be moving so fast!

I know that you are probably thinking that it sounds impossible to live like this! I know that back when I was working 9-5 I wished on shooting stars to get a day-off or even to get an extra 15 minute break! Now I can spend all the time in the world on things that matter most to me because my flexible schedule allows for it… and remember, if you feel like taking a break because you need to do something important or even just to get your head straight then you don’t have to worry about getting fired because you are your own boss!

If you set up a similar schedule for yourself to accommodate to your own personal needs then you will find that success is within reach! All you have to do is eliminate all the factors which combine to bring you down… and rise above it in an obvious way! Managing your time better has been proven to increase your chances of success! If you Make Money Online.. remember that you can always make more if you manage your time wisely!

Here at the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE‘ I am trying to teach you everything that you need to know as someone who has no previous knowledge about internet marketing! I try to make it simple to learn how you can make money online without any business knowledge! My blog was originally geared towards people who wanted to learn how to make money online and didn’t know where to start! Now over the past few months I have jumped  into different areas of the make money online niche opening new ideas to those who want to get started and I know that some new internet marketers may sometimes feel like giving up, or may not be heading in the direction that they wanted to go!

In order to succeed and start a career on the internet you need to be able to eliminate all the distractions that are in your way! This isn’t the most simple task and it is hard for me to give instructions that will help everyone because each person has their own unique environments and circumstances! What I can do; however, is tell you how you can stay focused on your goals by doing a few general things that will increase your success rate!

There are a couple things you should do in order to get where you want to be… here they are:

1. Manage Your Time.
   One thing that I have noticed while doing Online Marketing is that in order for me to get things done, and have enough free time to do other important things.. I have to schedule my time perfectly! Managing your work time is one of the most important things to do because in business… if you don’t work, you don’t make money! It is easy for you to collect a paycheck when your boss issues one each week for working on his schedule…  making money as consistently as a full time job from internet marketing isn’t as easy! You need to put in the time and energy to get the work done!
2. Set Your Goals.
   I know that this is common sense by now, but it amuses me to find people who don’t have clear goals! I asked a few people starting a career in Online Marketing what their goals were and the answers I got were abysmal. “I want to be rich!” is a goal… yes, but it is so vague! A proper goal would have been ” I want to be able to support myself financially from Online Marketing within a year “.
   
   If your goals are too vague then chances are that your ideas of how to reach them will also be vague!
3. Eliminate Distractions.
   I know that having a laptop is perfect for anyone who wants to be able to work from anywhere. Why limit yourself to working at home when you can do your work in a park with beautiful scenery or a coffee shop with a mellow ambiance? If you want to be confronted with a million distractions while you are struggling to get a small task done then that is a great idea! To be more realistic… working in a public setting can be fun and great for those who don’t lose focus, but for most of us.. things will not be getting done!
   If you want to keep your eyes on the prize you have to be willing to spend the time to work at it and if working outside of your home is too much of a distraction for you then you shouldn’t do it! Remember, whatever I write here may not apply to everyone… but generally I have found that people don’t get work done when they are out!
4. Reward Yourself.
   One great way of getting the job done and giving you a clear reason to continue is to reward yourself! I know that the reward for working is the money that comes out of it, but if you are just starting to work online that money may seem pretty far away. If you want to stay focused on your goals; you might want to offer yourself an immediate reward for work accomplished. Whenever you finish writing an article for a web site you can allow yourself to watch an hour of TV or play video games. Whatever you like to do… as long as you put work before pleasure. This will ensure that you are getting your work done!

Once you have decided to implement these things you will see how easily it is to make more money online and why it makes so much sense! Organize your time, set your goals, eliminate your distractions and reward yourself for the work you have done. It is the most simple way to increase your revenue without changing your business plan!

Article Marketing is a form of advertising that has been used online for quite some time; in fact, it even dates back to the advent of print media! The basic idea is that a person or business will have written an article or numerous articles relative to their own industry which would then re-direct readers to their own website through a resource box link at the end of the article. This gives marketers the ability to increase traffic to their website, increase exposure and provide useful information to readers at no cost!

The Benefits of Article Marketing:

   One of the great things about Article Marketing is that it is like killing two birds with one stone! You write an article to get traffic through referrals from your article; but at the same time, you are creating easy one way backlinks to your web site! One reason this is golden is because if a lot of readers link to this article it will place high in search engines and thus bring you even more traffic! Each article you submit is like a high quality backlink that increases organic (search engine) traffic to your site!
3. Establishing Your Name.
   Writing great articles within your niche is an excellent way of establishing yourself as an expert in your field! If you know a lot on ‘Internet Marketing‘ and submit many articles to Article Directories about certain key subjects within that topic you will be viewed as a knowledgable person when it comes to Internet Marketing. Readers who come across your page are more likely to take your opinion/advice about something or buy products that you promote just because you are an authority!
4. Indirect Sales.
   Direct selling and promoting your products is not allowed in articles submitted to Article Directories; however, many great writers are talented in the way they can write an article which will persuade someone to do something indirectly! If you plant a certain idea in a reader’s head then there is a chance that the person will act on that idea and since your website is right there in the resource box it is easy to close the deal!

Writing a dozen articles related to your website and letting them sit there on Article Directories alone will make a difference in terms of SEO for your web site; but you can do a lot more with it! This may be a good time to think about combining Social Bookmarking with Article Marketing. It is a perfect combination.. it is almost as if they were made to work hand in hand! Here is a short step by step guideline of how you should use Article Marketing to your advantage as a webmaster:

1. Write a dozen quality articles related to your Niche!
2. Submit these articles to a few Article Directories.
3. Once you have submit these articles and they are approved, submit the article links to a few social bookmarking sites!
4. Watch your web site’s traffic sky rocket!

Once you have this system set up for your sites you will find it a lot easier to rank higher in search engines and obtain much more organic traffic! Article Marketing is a great way to attract more and more readers to your web page or blog and it is all free!

Hey Everyone… if you’ve been keeping up to date with the ‘ONE YEAR MILLIONAIRE‘ then you might have already read an older post that I’ve written about the importance of RSS Subscribers and what they can do for your blog! Check out ‘5 Simple Ways to Increase RSS Subscribers‘! Today I am going to expand on that topic a little more and list 10 things that anyone with a decent blog can do that will help increase RSS Subscribers!

These days it seems that bloggers everywhere are given more authority if they have a higher RSS Feed Count than the next. It seems that a lot of individuals in the blogging world and Internet Marketing Niche are putting less importance on Alexa rank and more on Technorati and RSS Subscribers!

The reason is because your RSS Count is a beautiful indicator of how well your blog is doing and how much potential it has! When your RSS numbers go up it means that people value your content! No one will subscribe to your RSS if they don’t want to come back to your site!

So here are ten things that you should do or at least consider before deciding that you’ll never increase your RSS Count:

1. Make your Feed Icon Noticeable!
   A lot of surfers won’t know that the option of RSS Feed is available unless you slap it in their faces! This is one of the reasons why a lot of great websites have low RSS numbers! The best way to show users that your Feed is available is to place a big icon in the header of your page or somewhere at the top where surfers will see it easily!
2. Publish Great Content.
   I know that this is something that is kind of common sense.. but you have to be posting great content on your site if you want people to subscribe to your feed! If someone comes across a site with RSS Feed Icons easily visible and finds that the content doesn’t provide useful information… why would he/she want to subscribe to the RSS Feed?
3. Show your Count!
   Show off your RSS Count! Show your readers that other people consider your information useful! I don’t suggest that web sites with low RSS Count show their numbers because it might end up back firing! Showing a low count could discourage readers from subscribing! If your website is relatively new like mine it is kind of hard to have a huge RSS Count, but you should typically start showing your feed count at the 200-300 mark!
4. Submit to RSS Directories.
   A lot of blogs overlook submitting their feed to RSS Directories. I don’t understand why, because I am sure that a lot of these bloggers spend time submitting to blog directories, article directories and search engines. This goes along the same lines except it is specifically for RSS Feeds!
5. Use Pod Casts!
   This is one of the growing trend among bloggers in the blogosphere! Instead of posting traditional articles all the time… offer video/audio posts! For some reason it has a much greater affect on viewers than traditional web based writing! It is probably because the surfer gets to be more familiarized with who you are (it is much more up close and personal). All of the blogs I’ve seen doing this have been pretty successful… but it does take a little bit of work. I’m sure that it is well worth it!
6. Respond to your E-Mails!
   Would you take the 30 seconds to subscribe to an RSS Feed belonging to a website who’s author doesn’t respond his E-Mails? If a surfer doesn’t feel like a webmaster cares much about his/her needs then he/she might not want to take the time to subscribe to a feed. I know personally that responding to all your E-Mails can be a long task and take a bit of time… but if you do it is worth it because you could gain much more then a few RSS Subscribers! Make sure that when you respond to your E-Mails you include something like “.. Thank you for visiting my site… if you would like to stay updated then please subscribe to the RSS Feed.. ” a few little words in an E-Mail can be a lot more powerful than no words at all.
7. Post Often.
   The reason that RSS Subscription is available is to make sure that readers don’t miss a new post! A good way to give them a reason to subscribe would be to post often enough that they would feel that they need a reminder so that they do not miss out on new content from your site!
8. E-Mail Subscription Option.
   Give people the option of subscribing to your feed through E-Mail. This means that they will receive an E-Mail whenever there is a new post on your site! The great thing about this is that since feed numbers tend to fluxuate… the amount of E-Mail subscriptions that you have tends to stabilize it. It gives you a flat number that you know for sure are going to be exposed to your online efforts!
9. Remind your Readers!
   Sometimes acquiring new Feed Subscribers can be a difficult task because a lot of readers may overlook it! One way to make sure that they can’t overlook it is to remind them at the end of each of your posts!
10. Offer Something in Return.
    A great way to have people sign up to your RSS Feed is if you offer them something that they can only get if they subscribe to your feed! One things that I have noticed is that a lot of web sites in the Internet Marketing Niche offer free informational E-Books in return for subscribing to their RSS Feed. This is a guaranteed way to increase your feed count!

Try to avoid faking your RSS Count at all costs! Although a few people have posted articles about how it can be profitable to fake your count to increase your actual count, I think that as more research has been made on the subject that it is a bad idea in the long run. There is nothing worse than being exposed as a fake. If you have a couple hundred RSS Subscribers then your posts would generally have a lot of comments. Don’t post a count of 400 when you only have 15! This could only damage your online reputation!

One last thing to avoid are some services that are out on the internet which claim to increase RSS Subscribers. This is a service that you pay for and receive a certain amount of subscribers. I am sure that they will deliver on the subscribers… but are they quality subscribers? Most of these services simply sign up to your feed with hundreds of different email addresses. Your feed reader will count each one as a RSS Subscriber because they don’t actually have to read the emails to be counted! This is really pointless because it is not adding any ‘actual’ real visitors to your site who will return and read your content.
